Prof. Dr. Xi Chen
Prof. Xi Chen is a Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University, where he also serves as the Director of the Civil Laboratory for Experiencing Virtual Environment and Reality (CLEVER). His research expertise spans computational geomechanics, artificial intelligence applications in geotechnical engineering, and unsaturated soil mechanics. Prof. Chen has made notable contributions to the integration of intelligent modeling and simulation in geotechnical analysis, advancing the understanding of soil behavior under complex environmental and mechanical conditions.
He is an active member of several leading professional organizations, including the International Association for Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics (IACMAG), the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), and the Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (CISMGE–CCES).
